Alex K. Kriksciun
New Orleans Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Attorney
Alex K. Kriksciun has devoted his legal career to defending the rights of individuals against the awesome power of local, state, and federal governments and big corporations. Whether the case involves a municipal citation, a life imprisonment without parole case, a wrongful death suit, or a minor fender-bender, Alex has always stepped up to help guide his clients through their legal matter with resolute representation.
Alex was born and raised in Northern Virginia. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 2003, he spent two years working as a business analyst for a government consulting firm. Alex moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University Law School exactly nine days before Hurricane Katrina made landfall over southeast Louisiana. He decided to return to New Orleans in December of 2005, and has lived here since.
While at Tulane as a member of the law school’s “Katrina Class,” Alex won the Edwin I. Mahoney Award for the outstanding examination in criminal law as chosen from the 200+ members of his class. Alex also served as vice president of the legal honor society Phi Delta Phi, made the finals of the intraschool moot court trial competition, served as a moot court board justice, and was the Senior Research Editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law. He graduated from Tulane Law, cum laude, in May of 2008.
Prior to opening the Law Office of Alex Kriksciun, Alex was honored to serve as a law clerk for the Hon. Fredericka Homberg Wicker of the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and as an associate at a Westbank law firm focusing on criminal defense and personal injury. He fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening his own office in November of 2016.
Through his office, Alex remains connected and committed to fighting for the rights of the Greater New Orleans community. He is a board member of the nonprofit Old Algiers Main Street Corporation, has volunteered his time assisting low-income New Orleanians file expungements, and has assisted local high school moot court teams prepare for competition. Because of confusion on the part of a family member, what should have been a simple denial became questionable to the investigators. Alex called back immediately, understood the nuances of the family dynamics as well as the law & was able to quickly address the problem. The legal aspects of the case were clarified & dealt with in a timely manner, but, perhaps even more important to us, he also took the time to explain the law to our family member in a way that was clear & compassionate. I highly recommend Alex in any case you may have -- he's smart, well versed in the intricacies of the law & takes the time to not only listen, but to truly understand what the person & family are going through. We can't thank him enough.
Gets the job done!!!
Not from New Orleans and needed a lawyer ASAP! Went to Google and took a chance and glad we found him! He assisted and answered any questions we needed. We were worried being from Florida how things worked but he explained to us everything we needed to know and we were at ease going home. Great communication. He exceeded our expectations! If you need a good lawyer this the man to go to!
